WIB Entrevista: Shane Haste

Confira a nossa entrevista com o lutador Shane Haste, mais conhecido por suas performances na Pro-Wrestling NOAH:

A entrevista abaixo foi realizada por nós do Wrestling Indy Brazil, Leonardo e Audico, que entramos em contato com o lutador que gentilmente nos cedeu seu tempo para que assim pudesse responder algumas de nossas perguntas.

A entrevista foi organizada de modo que além de ver as perguntas e respostas em português, vocês também poderão ver as perguntas e respostas originais, feitas em inglês.

Para aqueles que pouco conhecem ou desconhecem o Shane Haste, ao longo deste post serão distribuídas algumas imagens e lutas dele, para que vocês tenham uma noção do lutador.

Sendo assim, vamos ao que interessa:

WIB: O Pro Wrestling é popular em sua terra natal, Austrália?

Shane Haste: Eu acho que é. Eu já lutei lá por um tempo mas atualmente tem uma nova geração de caras que estão aumentando a popularidade do Wrestling. Não somente isso, mas a qualidade dos shows e do wrestling tem aumentado também.

WIB: Is pro-wrestling popular at your homeland, Australia?

Shane Haste: I think it is. I went down alittle bit there for while but lately theres been a new generation of guys boosting the popularity of pro wrestling. Not only that but the quality of the wrestling and shows.

WIB: Por que você decidiu ir ao Japão para lutar na NOAH?

SH: Eu sempre quis lutar no Japão, então Mikey e eu fomos realizar uma tryout da NOAH na academia do Harley Race em Missouri e fomos selecionados por eles (NOAH) para treinar e lutar no Japão.

WIB: Why did you decided to go to Japan to wrestle for NOAH?

SH: Ive always wanted to wrestle in Japan so Mikey and I went to a NOAH camp/tryout at Harley Races school in Missuori and were selected by them to train with them and wrestle for them in Japan.

WIB: Você pode nos descrever a sensação de lutar em uma empresa que tem em seu elenco lendas como Kenta Kobashi, Go Shiozaki, KENTA, Jun Akiyama e muitos outros?

SH: Eu amo! Eu assisti muito a esses caras no início de minha carreira e sempre quis lutar lá e contra eles. O KENTA, especialmente, é uma grande influência em meu wrestling e foi demais lutar contra ele e treinar com ele. Eu aprendi muito lutando (tendo minha bunda chutada) com Shiozaki e Akiyama, e espero ir contra eles mais e mais vezes e sair com a melhor.

WIB: Can you descibe to us the feeling of wrestling in a company that has such legendary wrestlers like Kenta Kobashi, Go Shiozaki, KENTA, Jun Akiyama and a lot of others?

SH: I absolutly love it! I watched alot of those guys early on in my career and always wanted to wrestle there and against them. KENTA especially is a big influence on my wrestling and its been awsome to go against him and train with him. Ive learnt so much from wrestling (getting my ass kicked by) Shiozaki and Akiyama, so I hope to get to go up against them more and more and hopefully one day come out on top!

WIB: A sua última luta na PWG foi em 2009, se não me engano. Você tem planos para voltar? Talvez para realizar um evento de uma noite ou algo do gênero?

SH: Ah, não no momento. Eu tive uma ótima experiência lá e amo os fãs de Los Angeles e os lutadores também, mas não tenho planos para voltar. Se eu estiver perto de L.A. novamente, eu definitivamente adoraria lutar na PWG.

WIB: The last match that you had in PWG was in 2009 if i'm not mistaken. Is there any plans to come back? Perhaps to do a one-night show or something else?

SH: Uh not at the moment, I had a great time there and love the L.A fans and wrestlers but for the time being there arent any plans to head back. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely love to do it again.

WIB: Qual o significado da tatuagem que você tem em seu peito?

SH: Bem, eu tenho duas em meu peito. Comecei com o símbolo vermelho que vem de M*A*S*H, é o símbolo encontrado na porta da frente do pântano (tenda Hawkeye - algo como olhos do falcão). É um símbolo para afastar os maus espíritos. O fogo azul que eu adicionei ao redor é o símbolo do fogo no coração (coragem), desejo e tudo o mais. Eu escolhi a cor azul por causa da aura que rodeava Goku no DragonBall Z (haha). As várias tatuagens que tenho vieram de shows de TV e de video games. Eu sou um idiota mesmo.

WIB: What's the meaning of the tattoo that you have on your chest?

SH: Well I kinda have two on my chest. Started with the red symbol on my chest which is from M*A*S*H, its the symbol on the front door of the swamp (Hawkeyes tent). Its a symbol to ward off evil spirits. The blue fire I got added around it is a symbol of the fire in the heart, desire and all that junk. I wanted blue because of the blue aura that would suround Goku in DBZ haha alot of the tattoos I get are from tv shows and video games. I am a dork like that.

WIB: Você acha que você e o Mike Nicholls têm chances de conquistarem os cinturões do GHC Jr. Tag, considerando que você já lutaram por eles?

SH: Infelizmente, não. Mike e eu agora somos heavyweights, portanto nada dos cinturões Jr. para nós. Mas digo que iremos com tudo pelos GHC Heavyweight Tag Titles!

WIB: Do you think that you and Mike Nicholls have chances to win the GHC Jr. Tag belts, considering that you both already wrestled for it?

SH: Unfortunatly not. Mike and I are now heavy weights so no Jr belts for us. But in saying that we will be gunning for the GHC heavyweight tag titles!

WIB: Você e Nicholls lutaram contra Ross e Marshall Von Erich na estreia deles no Japão. O que você pensa sobre eles?

SH: Eles são bons garotos. Nós os vimos treinando e também mantivemos um olho neles enquanto eles estavam na América treinando com Harley Race. Nós, definitivamente, vimos eles trabalhando duro e creio que têm um futuro brilhante pela frente.

WIB: You and Nicholls wrestled against Ross and Marshall Von Erich at their Japan debut. What do you think about them?

SH: Their good guys. We saw them train and kept an eye on them while they were in America training and wrestling for Harley Race. So we deffinatly saw they were working hard and have a bright future ahead of them.

WIB: Você lutou no evento da Ring of Honor: Proving Grounds juntamente com Nicholls, como foi o tratamento por lá? Qual a diferença entre os vestiários da ROH e da NOAH?

SH: A diferença principal entre os dois vestiários acaba sendo mesmo a língua (haha). Mas falando sério, nós tivemos um ótimo momento pela ROH. Os fãs foram legais e o caras de lá são ótimos, nós tivemos contato com praticamente todo mundo por lá, tivemos ótimas lutas e bons momentos também.

WIB: You wrestled in Ring of Honor's Proving Ground event alongside Nicholls, how's the treatment down there? What's the difference between ROH's locker room and NOAH's locker room?

SH: The main difference between the two locker rooms would have to be the the language haha. Um but seriously we had a great time in ROH. Fans were cool and the guys were great, we got along with just about everyone there and had some rad matches and some good times.

WIB: Shane, como a TMDK nasceu e qual o significado da sigla?

SH: Na verdade, a TMDK nasceu por parte dos fãs. No Main Event no EPW Perths ReAwakening em 2009, os fãs votaram em uma dupla para enfrentar os atuais campeões. Eles votaram por mim e Mikey, nós vencemos a luta e permanecemos como um time desde então. TMDK inicialmente começou como uma piada (haha): Team Murder Death Kill, que veio de um dos filmes do Jean-Claude Van Damme. Nós então mudamos para: The Mighty Don't Kneel (Os Poderosos não se Ajoelham), o que seria uma bela representação da visão do Mike e minha também sobre o nosso estilo e comportamento no wrestling. Desde que começamos como time, eu e o Mike concordamos em ser nós mesmos, lutando como lutamos e fazendo as coisas como fazemos (sendo originais). Sem ofender ninguém, apenas aceitando o fato de que ou você gosta de nós, ou não. As coisa têm ficado muito boas para nós desde que assumimos essa mentalidade, portanto seguiremos desta forma.

WIB: Shane, how TMDK was born and what's the meaning of it?

SH: TMDK was actually born from the fans. For the main event at EPW Perths ReAwakening in 2009 the fans voted for a tag team to take on the current tag champs. They voted for Mikey and I, we won the match and have stayed teaming since then. TMDK first started as a bit of a joke haha standing for Team Murder Death Kill which is from one of the Jean Claude Vam Dam movies. We then changed it to The Mighty Dont Kneel which is symbolic of Mike and I's view to our wrestling and how we go about what we do in wrestling. Since teaming Mike and I agreed that we would just be ourselves and wrestle how we wrestle and do things how we do things. Not meaning screw you to the man but just meaning if you like us you like us if you dont you dont. Things have gone pretty sweet for us so far with that mentality so we will continue that way.

WIB: Você é um lutador em tempo integral ou realiza outras atividades para se manter ocupado?

SH: Na verdade, não. Além de minhas lutas, treinamentos e malhação na academia, não há muito mais coisas em minha vida. Eu amo assistir shows televisivos e filmes, e leio algumas revistas em quadrinhos e mangas (veja o idiota, haha).

WIB: Are you a fulltime wrestler or you have some other activities that keep you busy?

SH: Not really. Apart from wrestling, training and working out at the gym theres not alot more to my life. I love watching tv shows and movies and I read afew comics and manga (see dork haha).

WIB: Nós temos fontes que nos confirmam que a Australia tem algum tipo de rancor da Nova Zelândia. É verdade?

SH: Talvez na costa leste, mas na amável Perth (cidade natal do Shane) somos todos boa gente (haha). Não diria que há um rancor entre os dois países, mas, definitivamente, uma competitividade esportiva, nós dois queremos ser os melhores.

WIB: We have sources that tell us that Australia has a kind of grudge with new Zealand. Is that true?

SH: Maybe on the East coast but here in lovely Perth we're all nice people haha. I wouldnt say there was a grudge between the countries but deffinatly a sporting competion, we both wanna be the best!

WIB: E para o futuro, Shane? Você continuará na NOAH ou tem algum outro lugar em que você gostaria de lutar?

SH: Eu realmente não posso prever o meu futuro, mas eu estou muito feliz no Japão e adoraria continuar a lutar e a subir nos rankings por lá. Como todo lutador, eu gostaria de lutar nas empresas grandes da América, com certeza.

WIB: What's for the future, Shane? You will still be wrestling in NOAH or is there anywhere else you would like to wrestle?

SH: Cant really predict my future but Im very happy in Japan and would love to keep wrestling there and moving up the ladder there. Like every wrestler Id love to wrestle in the big companies in America for sure.
